Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech (USA) dedicated to international development, is recruiting for Project Field Engineer to support multi-year (2017-2021) USAID-funded sustainable energy project in Pakistan.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The project field engineer will assist in distribution related activities under the supervision of Distribution Commercialization, NW System and HS&E Advisors. This position will report to Director Commercial Distribution Operations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
§ Provide implementation support to complete tasks under SEP distribution component, including technical assessments, studies and trainings.
§ Assist supervisors in conducting various studies on the distribution network of the selected DISCOs.
§ Prepare required project reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
§ Work closely with Monitoring & Evaluation team to support data gathering and analysis.
§ Coordinate meetings to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
§ Provide guidance to the field force for timely trouble shooting during project execution.
§ Conduct technical evaluation of bids as part of procurement process.
§ Assist line managers in preparing scope of work for engaging sub-contractors and consultants.
§ Completes field tasks/activities by training and guiding technicians.
§ Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
LOCATION:
Islamabad, Pakistan. The job entails excessive domestic travels.
QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
EDUCATION:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a HEC recognized university.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
§ Candidate should have work experience of 3-5 years preferably in areas of loss reduction, system improvement, projects & materials management, HS&E, billing & collections and operations & maintenance of MV/LV distribution network
§ Working experience in DISCOs is highly preferred.
§ Experience of working on multi donor projects is a plus.
SKILLS:
§ Ability to work in team environment and meet tight deadlines under demanding conditions.
§ Excellent communication and writing skills with ability to present complex technical proposals.
§ High level of computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Power point.
