JOB TITLE: Senior Officer Child Participation

TEAM/PROGRAMME: CP/CRG

LOCATION:  Islamabad

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a member of the CP/CRG team, you will work with Senior Coordinator CP/CRG to ensure meaningful child participation in CP/CRG projects/programs as per the devised framework and contribute towards the effective implementation of CP/CRG program in Pakistan.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Senior Coordinator CP/CRG

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

As a member of the CP/CRG team,

  • Support and work closely with partners in the implementation of child led and child specific activities of the project and in documenting/linking the good practices at the field level to support meaningful child participation in CP/CRG program
  • Support the implementation of the project activities involving civil society especially children at local, district, provincial and national level, on CP/CRG issues.
  • Support program to implement the project activities with meaningful participation of Children.
  • Assist CP/CRG team in assessing partner’s practices in child participation and identify areas of improvement.
  • Develop quality benchmarks for child participation interventions and integrate into project activities.
  • Develop and incorporate child-friendly methodologies to promote child participation in CP/CRG programme implementation.
  • Contribute to capacity building and development of partners on child participation through oversight and collaboration
  • Ensure input and support to periodic narrative reports where appropriate.
  • Work with (as guided by the Senior Coordinator CP/CRG), MEAL unit to ensure that Child Participation in the CP/CRG programme is monitored against already developed standards and indicators.
  • Coordinate with partners for collection of their work plans, MOVs and other programmatic information / documents required by program.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Preferably Master degree or above in social sciences or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience, preferbally working on Child Rights/program implementation through partnership.
  • Good understanding of children’s issues and child participation
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
  • Previous  experience  of working on child participation with a multi-cultural team and  the  adaptability to varied team dynamics
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
