Position Description:
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Expert to oversee all IT (Information Technology) Security functions in our company.
- seeking to build in security during the development stages of software systems, networks and data centres
- looking for vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software
- finding the best way to secure the IT infrastructure of an organisation
- building firewalls into network infrastructures
- constantly monitoring for attacks and intrusions
- when the cyber security specialist finds a potential threat or attempted breach, closing off the security vulnerability
- identifying the perpetrator and liaising with the police if necessary
- securing the infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
As an information security specialist, your work will focus on understanding risks to the security of information or data.
You'll analyse where security breaches may occur or have occurred, and repair or strengthen systems against such breaches. This relates to the systems and networks used by companies and organisations to manage their information and information technology.
You may have expertise in working with different types of computer networks. These could include networks associated with the banking sector and, for example, with those associated with:
- cloud computing
- laptop
- mobile telephone and application technologies
Requirements:
- MS IS (Information Security)
- Completion of an internship/apprenticeship in cybersecurity a plus
- Strong IT skills including knowledge on hardware, software, networks, and data centers
- Thorough work ethic, attention to detail
- Skills of perception and QA, ability to identify vulnerabilities and overall issues
- Critical thinking skills, problem solving aptitude
- Forensic approach to challenges
- Ability to think like a hacker and anticipate hacker moves
- Desire to self-educate on the ever-changing landscape of cyber hacking tactics
- Experience in professional cybersecurity a plus
