Poultry Management Trainer

FATA Secretariat Program (FSP) is supporting returnee male of selected areas located on Minor-D, Minor-E, and Minor-G of Bara Tehsil, Khyber Agency through the provision of a three- day’s training on backyard poultry management. This will enhance the knowledge level of the in better poultry management, further enabling them to practice day to day poultry management activities efficiently and increase their income. A total of two hundred(200) men will be trained in five (5) groups of average 40 people each, on topics such as the importance of indigenous backyard poultry, housing, handling, caging & fencing, feeding requirement, diseases and vaccination, breed selection and marketing. GSDP intends to hire the services of a male trainer for conducting poultry management training to 200 male of Bara, Khyber Agency. Training will be conducted at the selected locations in Bara Tehsil.

 Duty Station:      Bara, Khyber Agency

1) Major tasks to be accomplished:

The resource person will conduct 4 three-days training sessions for 200 males in five groups with average 40 person in each group of Bara, Khyber Agency on poultry management, focusing on the following broader aspects:

• Importance of Indigenous backyard poultry farming;
• Poultry housing, handling, caging and fencing
• Poultry feed requirements
• Identification of the major prevalent poultry diseases that  affects the backyard poultry
• Vaccination schedule
• Poultry  disease reduction and administration of  poultry vaccination;
• Breed selection for multiplication
• Eggs collection and storage
• Marketing of eggs

2)      Deliverables:

• Session plan and training module
• Pre and post training test formats
• Training Report

3)      Time-Frame:  Total duration: 15 days

 5)      Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:

• DVM or MSc in animal sciences
• Experience in delivering community training.
• Report writing skills
