Project Description:

The purpose of the Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) is to identify, support and bring to scale private sector solutions to improve agricultural productivity in Pakistan, through a four-year activity. PATTA will partner with agricultural technology companies to commercialize products and services that can increase the productivity and competitiveness of small-holder farmers and mobilize private sector investment in agricultural technology. PATTA’s partnership will provide small-holder farmers broader access to affordable technologies to increase productivity, build resilience to climate change and reduce postharvest losses.

Objective of the Assignment:

The objective of the assignment is to assist PATTA in technical and project support tasks related to technology transfer activities. The consultant will aid project staff in implementation of project activities, trainings and linkage development with PATTA’s business partners.

Assignment Scope:

Working under the direction of Access to Finance Officer, the STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop concept notes and statement of work documents for engagement of PATTAs’ business partners and short-term technical assistance consultants
  • Develop and review primary and secondary research, assessments and reports
  • Develop summaries of resources reviewed and/or developed and suggest actions to Access to Finance Officer
  • Develop data directories and other information related to technology companies and PATTAs’ business partners
  • Prepare presentations, correspondence, meeting arrangements, minutes and other tasks
  • Record meeting results and action items for follow up required with partners
  • Coordinate with short term technical assistance consultants and PATTA partners in field for completion of tasks
  • Coordinate with PATTA administrative team on procurement of products and services including logistics as needed to support Agricultural Technology Transfer


The specific deliverables of STTA are;

  1. Submit work plan within 3 days of assignment commencement  
  2. Submit one-page bi-weekly update to Access to Finance Officer on the assigned tasks  
  3. Provide meeting minutes, concept notes and statement of work documents as per submitted work plan

Estimated level of effort (LOE) for the assignment:

60 working days

Timing of the Assignment:

The consultant will commence working on this assignment on or about March 12, 2018 with completion by July 1st, 2018.

Place of Performance: Islamabad & Lahore

No of Positions: 02 (Lahore and Islamabad based)


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/agribusiness management or related fields. Masters preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of business development/marketing experience in agriculture sector, agri-related FMCG or any reputed organization within the private or development sector
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and ability to perform in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills in English and excellent level of attention to details
  • Willingness to travel to field (rural and/or urban areas)
  • Fluency in English and Urdu
