Project Description:

The purpose of the Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) is to identify, support and bring to scale private sector solutions to improve agricultural productivity in Pakistan, through a four-year activity. PATTA will partner with agricultural technology companies to commercialize products and services that can increase the productivity and competitiveness of small- holder farmers and mobilize private sector investment in agricultural technology. PATTA’s partnership will provide small-holder farmers broader access to affordable technologies to increase productivity, build resilience to climate change and reduce postharvest losses.

Objectives of the Technical Assistance:

The objective of the assignment is to assist PATTA in technical and other tasks related to crop technology transfer activities.  The consultant will provide assistance in development and implementation of trainings and linkage development activities.

Assignment Scope:

The STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

Working under the direction of the Crop Technology Officer, the STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in concept note and scope of work development for engagement of business services providers and shot term technical assistance
  • Review of primary and secondary research, assessments, and training reports
  • Prepare presentations, correspondence, meeting arrangements, minutes and other tasks
  • Develop resources and related information on technologies and partners
  • Record meeting results and action items for follow up required in contacts with partners
  • Coordinate with and provide administrative support for STTAs in field

Deliverables:

The specific deliverables of STTA are;

  1. Submit work plan within 3 days of assignment commencement  
  2. Submit one-page bi-weekly update to Access to Finance Officer on the assigned tasks 
  3. Provide meeting minutes, concept notes and statement of work documents as per submitted work plan

Estimated level of effort (LOE) for the assignment:

60 working days (approximately 3 months)

Place of Performance: Lahore and Islamabad

No. of Positions: 02 (Lahore and Islamabad based)

Timing of the Assignment:

The consultant will commence working on this assignment on or about March 12, 2018 with completion by July 01, 2018.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration/agribusiness or related field
  • 2 to 3 years of working experience in agriculture sector or agribusiness
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Documented excellent report writing skills in English
  • Oral fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel to field (rural and/or urban areas)
