Job Purpose:

The Physical Rehabilitation Training Coordinator bolsters the sustainability and quality of physical rehabilitation services which are provided to victims of armed conflict/and or other situations of violence by managing professional training programmes or training modules.  Within the physical rehabilitation team s/he will be in charge of all education matters related to prosthetic & orthotics, physiotherapy and activities that strengthen the disability sector as a whole.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ortho-prosthetics (Preferably ISPO Cat-I).
  • Master’s degree in education or  field related education P&O projects (assignments involving training given in partnership with universities) will be an asset,
  • Fluent command of English & Urdu.
  • Minimum 6 years' postgraduate professional experience.
  • Confirmed teaching/training expertise within the filed of prosthetics & orthotics.
  • Experience in managing ortho-prosthetic service provision.
  • Work experience in Pakistan or experience in low-income settings.
  • Previous physical rehabilitation project assignments in well reputed organization/P&O School or humanitarian organization.
  • International experience will be an added value.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluates training needs, designs implementing strategies and establishes action plans.
  • Develops, manages and runs training activities in accordance with the ICRC's physical rehabilitation training policy and recognized training guidelines and/or professional standards (for example ISPO education standards & ISPO P&O standards).
  • Develops and implement capacity building modules for Rehab Initiative.
  • Fosters the implementation of the national curriculum.
  • Manages allocated resources (staff, material, equipment and other financial assistance).
  • Organizes the trainee selection process in collaboration with the relevant counterparts.
  • Ascertains that training is carried out according to recognized professional standards, and reports on training progress and achievements.
  • Liaises with relevant stakeholders on educational matters (physical rehabilitation partners, schools, education ministries, etc.) and references training records.
  • Represents the ICRC physical rehabilitation project related to formal education and/or short-term training courses.
  • Coordinates and supervises physical rehabilitation staff assigned to training activities.
  • May act as a training manager on behalf of a physical rehabilitation partner, thus may be required to manage staff resources external to the ICRC.
