Background: The position is for an international development project working to deliver social infrastructure across Pakistan.

Position Summary: The position shall monitor and verify infrastructure construction works, providing technical assistance and other capacity building interventions to reduce capacity gaps, under the close supervision and training of other QA team members.

Location: Punjab/KP

Reporting and Supervision: This position will report to Quality Assurance Engineer.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Construction Supervision, Monitoring and Reporting

  • Works with the QA team to define, monitor and continuously improve construction processes & methods to meet desired quality standards.
  • Develops, prepares and reviews field visit reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Reviews, documents and reports issues during field visits which may include deviation from plans/drawings, specification, invoices and any other areas for improvement.
  • Provides technical assistance to QA Engineers in conducting QA field visits, preparation of bill of quantities and compiling of well-structured QA reports.
    • Conducts QA- MIS inspections in the field in accordance with pre-established standards and provides observations, comments and suggestions for the improvement of executed and ongoing work
    • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data. Takes quality photographs of the components/parts for reporting and issue recording purposes
    • Highlights any special issues/risks which needs attention or early resolution. Effective follow up on open issues/risks with QAE till closure.
    • Working with/on in-house data management by updating all types of logs and archiving all data on share drive including reports, BOQs, project photographs/Videos, Invoices or other related project data on weekly basis.
    • Reviews project documentation (On site, off site or on MIS) in accordance to the established quality standards and suggesting corrective and preventive measures.
    • Handling, printing, scanning, filing etc. of all QA documents
    • Providing guidance to district team to produce the right work and conducting Quality Assurance Tool boxes to promote the culture of quality and positive feedback.
    • Liaison with QAE/CE for making field visits plans and coordination.
    • Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with all departments.
    • Any other task assigned by Supervisor.

Coordination with Humqadam Staff

  • QA Interns must coordinate with the Chief Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer regarding the field visit/activity plans.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

  • Fresh graduates preferred
  • Previous internship experience (max 1 year) in construction preferred.
  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering Degree
  • Written and spoken English as well as local language(s);
  • IT Literacy: able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel at an intermediate level plus knowledge of Smartphone / tablet applications.
