I. Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Project Officer and under the direct supervision of the Senior Livelihood Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of all livelihood programming under the PTI program.

There will be frequent travel to the field offices in FATA to support the implementation of new livelihoods & agriculture grants.

II. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Support the compilation of relevant data and research, including but not limited to market assessments, value chain analysis, and other comparative analysis, to ensure needs and feasibility of all livelihoods programming under the PTI program.
  2. Support the Livelihood Officer in the maintenance and updating of the PTI Livelihoods strategy, as required.
  3. Advise and support the design and implementation of all livelihoods programming through constant communication and coordination with the Area Development Officer(s) and the Senior Livelihoods Officer.
  4. When serving as Grant Focal Point, monitor and report daily to the Senior Livelihoods Officer and the Area Development Officer(s) on project activities, develop grant success stories and required grant reporting and documentation.
  5. Support the preparation of TORs and training manuals and materials for activities, as required.
  6. Ensure that program development and implementation integrates community-based approaches with gender sensitivity in all activities.
  7. Ensure that lessons learned and good practices are incorporated into new programming and documented.
  8. Support the M&E unit in implementing monitoring mechanisms for livelihood activities.
  9. Any other duties as assigned.

III. Technical

  1. Experience in implementing a large number of projects in complex emergency settings (Delivers on a set of objectives in hardship situations)
  2. Experience in programmatic areas of community stabilization, community participation, and consultative-type projects and with demonstrated experience in subject matter livelihoods and agriculture
  3. Capacity to work efficiently and connect with both internal and external stakeholders, including different program units, implementing partner, beneficiaries and broader community, donor and government counterparts
  4. Capacity to design and write project ideas, develop and manage budgets and report on project progress
  5. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  6. Ability to travel extensively to project sites in KP and FATA 

IV. Education and Experience

Master’s degree or equivalent with three years relevant work experience in Agriculture and livelihood development and service delivery. Should have ample knowledge and field experience with monitoring and evaluation, preferably in externally aided or similar projects. Excellent writing and communication skills are required.

V. Languages

Required

Thorough knowledge of English; working knowledge of Pashtu, or other languages spoken in the region will be an advantage
