Note: The Deadline for submission of applications has been extended until February 28, 2018.

The Program:

The proposed intervention aims to introduce a new approach of meat export in nearby Middle East destinations i.e. GCC countries through chilled partial carcass in boxes via sea shipment. To date, several trials have been undertaken to test this new approach and gauge customer acceptance. AMD will work to undertake these sea container shipments on a cost sharing basis with its selected private sector partners.

Note: Additional details regarding the shipment will be shared with private sector applicants after pre-qualification.

Objective:

The main objective of the fresh chilled carcass parts and innovative packaging sea shipments is to reduce the export cost of meat resulting in improved competitiveness, extended shelf life, SPS hygiene protocols, and uninterrupted cold chain, with increased sales of the product in the GCC destination markets. It is anticipated that the successful trials will have a significant impact to the export industry through the introduction of a more economical mode of meat transportation from Pakistan to the GCC area. Furthermore, this exercise will provide the first steps in introducing the abattoirs to vacuum packaging for value added. Please see the attached document for further details.
