Reports to:                Finance Manager

Project End Date:     March 2019 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Process consultant invoices, staff claims and other operational payments;
  • Maintain proper accounting records related to TRF+;
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports and financial statements (bank book, bank reconciliation, petty cash, etc.);
  • Assist in preparing on a monthly basis a three month rolling cash forecast;
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidated accounts for funds received from overseas, using and adapting the chart of accounts provided by Mott MacDonald, London;
  • Conduct internal audits as necessary;
  • Manage and keep track of the funds received;
  • Ensure taxes are deposited in time and tax challans are issued;
  • Check all payments to be made against budgets and analyze and report on a monthly basis on discrepancies between forecasts, budgets and actual expenditure;
  • Respond to any other request related to financial management and reporting from the Head of TA Contracting and Support Unit and the Team Leader.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Finance Manager and the Team Leader.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: Master’s degree in accounting and finance or part qualified CA/CMA/ACCA or equivalent.

Experience: At least with 4 years’ experience in financial management. Experience with DFID or other international donor funded projects would be preferred.

Skills: Excellent, proven interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with individuals with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds; excellent computer skills in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel spreadsheets, WORD and accounting software; and ability to communicate well in English (oral and written).
