Project Description
US-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) activity in Pakistan is a USAID funded activity implemented by CNFA with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through improving the ability of Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors to meet both international and domestic demand and requirements in targeted product lines in Citrus, Mango, High value/off season vegetable and livestock. AMD envisions transforming the four targeted product lines into efficient, private sector led value chains that deliver competitive products to domestic and export markets. AMD’s targeted training, matching grants, and technical assistance will leverage private sector investment and encourage innovation. Together these approaches will support upgrading, streamline supply chains, optimize profit margins, increase participation of women entrepreneurs, and ultimately make Pakistani mango, citrus, meat and HV/OSV more profitable and more competitive.
Background Information and objectives of Technical Assistance:
This STTA position will be based in Lahore and is open to Pakistani nationals only. The Marketing Associate will provide support to the marketing team in data compilation, record keeping, liaising with project finance, procurement, communication and logistics departments and externally with the relevant stake holders. The purpose of this assignment is to enhance performance of the marketing team to successfully meet the project targets. The Marketing Associate will have a background in commerce, having good command of statistics, with experience in finance regulations of USAID a plus. The candidate have excellent command over maintaining the documentation and generate market related data required for reports and research. The STTA will report to the Director Marketing.
Assignment Scope:
This assignment requires the following specific functions:
- Facilitate the marketing team in keeping track of all the documentation with the exporters and other relevant stake holders;
- Keep track of and follow up with procurement, finance and communications department for compliance and timely completion of the assigned tasks;
- Support M&E team in liaising with the AMD supported exporters in collection and compilation of sales data;
- Assist in activity implementation including development of concept notes, budgets, SOWs, memos etc;
- Provide operations support for all marketing activities at the AMD Project, including those relating to the citrus, HVOSV, mango and meat value chains;
- Regularly update project related documents and provide feedback accordingly;
- Support compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports;
- Maintain effective information database on project, providing resource and necessary support for program inputs and outputs;
- Willingness to frequently travel to project areas throughout Pakistan;
- Facilitate documentation and reporting of assessments, program data, lessons learnt and best practices for internal and external sharing;
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by the Director Marketing for implementation of the AMD Project.
Deliverables:
- Monthly update report of all activities conducted by the STTA including:
- Maintain an activity tracker for weekly/monthly/quarterly progress reports including all meetings conducted by marketing;
- Maintain database containing primary and secondary trade data for AMD select product lines;
- Data (exports, sales etc.) of AMD supported exporters in coordination and support of M&E;
- Update marketing documents as needed;
- Liaison activities with finance, operations and procurement
- Report on other relevant tasks that may be assigned by the Director Marketing
Minimum Qualification:
- Pakistani national;
- At least 1-2 years of experience in: USAID funded or other donor projects or marketing/ project administration;
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, marketing, commerce, business management or finance;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain records;
- Knowledge of USAID financial rules is a plus;
- Fluency in written and verbal English is required
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
- Understanding, or prior exposure to agriculture/horticulture sector;
- Ability to perform successfully as a member of multiple project-related teams;
- Ability to manage multiple assignments
- Strong computer literacy skills required in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, web browsers, and email;
- Demonstrated excellent communications and writing ability;
- Demonstrated successful interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in both English and Urdu required; other Pakistani languages preferred;
- A willingness to travel throughout Pakistan;
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work under pressure and deadlines.

- Work experience in a development agency or in a development project environment is preferred.
