|
2.0 POSITION OBJECTIVES
|
Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering on a robust business
and fundraising strategy to tap funding opportunities available at various development partners, private sector foundations and charities and other funding agencies/donors. S/he will work to expand SDPI’s funding market to accelerate financial growth.
|
3.0 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS
|
3.1 Core Responsibilities & Duties
|
1. Lead business development portfolio by undertaking marketing activities with traditional
development partners and corporate clients.
|
2. Possess knowledge of non-profit philanthropy foundations and access them for funding and other
forms of collaboration.
|
3. Possess knowledge of corporate social responsibility (CSR) windows and access them for funding/other forms of collaboration.
|
4. Liaise with development partners to discuss upcoming opportunities and also seek SDPI's role in
existing on-going programmes.
|
5. Liaise with research fellows/research unit heads to seek their advice on under-process proposals and
on-going negotiations with potential development partners/donors in relevant thematic areas.
|
6. Streamline internal monitoring and evaluation to ensure reporting to partners, quality assurance, compliance with timelines, and completion of targets.
|
7. Implement retreat decisions on development of business development unit and ensure retreat follow up mechanism in this regard
|
8. Respond to occasional calls for proposal and pitch relevant concepts and activities to donors and funding agencies
|
9. Conduct meetings of research staff including seminars and discussion on work-in-progress activities.
|
10. Map out new potential clients for business development and develop a new funding strategy
|
11. Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives, especially Pakistan’s private sector for research funding
|
12. Attend conferences, meetings, events to interact and build alliance with potential development
partners.
|
13. Pro-actively project SDPI’s products among development partners and donors
|
14. Search organizations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and
potential new markets
|
15. Undertake crisis communication if any clarification is required regarding the implementation on agreements and create an overall objective and positive environment for SDPI
|
3.2 Occasional Significant Duties
|
1. Participate in the meetings of the Fellows Research Council.
|
2. Assist in the administration of the Institute, by serving on committees or otherwise, as
determined by the Fellows Research Council.
|
3. Discharge any other related administrative or management responsibilities assigned by the
Executive Director/ Fellows Research Council.
|
