BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The Program Manager will be responsible for program implementation, Development and Coordination.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
  • The post holder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and contributes to the development of the overall organization strategy.
  • Developing program policies, objectives, activity plans and timelines;
  • Work with the senior management team to develop and implement the Organization Strategy.
  • Provides leadership in expanding project portfolio in strategic program areas and ensures alignment with core business areas;
  • Monitors and tracks business opportunities for priority areas, and engages directly in the development of proposals, contributing to or leading technical design, and writing key sections;
  • Remains current on latest funding trends, policies, and innovations for each sector that align with the organization’s current and expanding core business;
  • Identify and proactively pursue grant and fundraising opportunities and Prepare grant applications, concept notes and proposals;
  • Participate in financial forecasting at the project and organizational level to determine necessary funding and resource requirements.
  • Ensure due diligence in the delivery of project activities and budget spending;
  • Assist in the development of short and long term plans for programs, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
  • Assist in design of performance objectives and implement and monitor programming to meet desired outcomes.
  • Develop yearly outreach plan according to program needs and capacity.
  • Organize training seminars to address staff needs and identify relevant external training opportunities.
  • Assist in the management of fiscal operations including budget development, modifications.  Track expenditures. Continually monitor the program’s financial.
  • Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to donor agencies, other organizations, and the general public.
  • Communicates widely within the program, with partners and related government institutions.
  • Encourage staff and volunteer development and education, and assist program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the organization.
  • Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.
  • Builds relationships with representatives of potential donors, clients and strategic partners.

  QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:         

Master in Social or Medical Sciences.

EXPERIENCE:        

At least 08 to 10 years relevant professional experience in project implementation /management and new business development in (Health, WASH, Nutrition, Education and livelihood). Knowledge of logical frameworks or other project design concepts; previous project design experience strongly preferred; Advanced writing, editing, and negotiation skills; Ability to be flexible in the phase of changing priorities and maintain a sense of humor. Ability to travel domestically.

LANGUAGE:           

Fluency in English, Urdu and Pashto.

KNOWLEDGE:

ABILITIES & SKILLS:    

  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to Program development and Projects implementation.
  • Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experienced in developing and managing budgets, hiring, and training, supervising and assessing personnel
  • Must be highly organized and able to work well with others
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer application and database management
  • The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a community-based organization.
  • Able to work with a variety of populations, and geographical areas of Pakistan.
  • Flexible; possessing the ability to wear different, “hats” on short notice.
