Position Summary:

Project Manager will lead the implementation of the DIL pilot Gateway Initiative, an innovative project that prepares current students and recent graduates for success beyond the school walls. By developing core leadership/life skills and identifying and facilitating access to professional and economic opportunities, our hope is that this program will serve as bridge between education and income generation and financial independence. The position will be responsible for day-to-day management of the project including reporting, budget management, leadership and proving technical support to curriculum development and monitoring and evaluation team. This individual will also take the added responsibility of a guidance counselor and case worker for the youth who successfully complete the leadership academy, with the goal of connecting them to opportunities for higher education or income generation.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 

Implementation of  Gateway program and its deliverables

  • Day-to-day management of program activities, inputs, timelines, risks and cost.
  • Mitigate issues/risks in a timely manner and ensure optimal utilization of operational and financial resources.
  • Work closely with project staff to ensure compliance with budget, work procedures and quality standards.
  • Implement, communicate and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outcomes.
  • Monitor and report project progress to all the stakeholders including senior leadership and donors.
  • Manage internal and external communications related to project.

School Based Life Skills and Capacity building Training 

  • Train Life Skills facilitators and personally deliver trainings as required
  • Supervise Life Skills Trainers/Facilitators and connect to knowledge resources.
  • Work closely with schools’ leadership and management to coordinate life skills training for DIL students.
  • Plan and develop skills development and capacity building workshops and trainings for students other than Life Skills program as per need.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to update life skills module on regular basis.
  • Plan and develop workshops to engage parents to motivate and bridge the communication gap between parents and students.

DIL College supervision

  • Oversee the operations of DIL College Orangi on a self-sustaining model
  • Strive to increase enrollment in the college
  • Provide guidance to college students for enrollment in higher education programs and skills training
  • Support and train college staff in carrying out capacity building support programs through academic and non-academic projects.

Internship and Graduate Tracking

  • Develop system of capturing and reporting DIL graduate information, including government exit exams.
  • Develop intern program procedures and selection criteria for interns and host organizations.
  • Cultivate relationships with intern hostorganizations and partners to enhance opportunities for DIL alumni.
  • Coordinate and monitor intern preparation training.
  • Monitor and report outcomes from intern experiences.

 

 

 

 



















 

 

Education and

Experience:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Development Studiesor Education with minimum 4 years of relevant experience inproject management, preferably in the education sector.

 

Technical knowledge/ know how

Strong project management & execution skills, report writing and budget management skills, staff management, sound computer knowledge, and excellent communication skills in English (oral & written). Good command on MSoffice.
